Broadcasting Workshop Series 2018/19 school year

RTHK Radio 3’s Teen Time

Broadcasting Workshop Series 2018/19 school year

Broadcast Like A Pro

Hi Teentimers, we’re running the Broadcasting Workshop Series again in this school year 2018/2019. DJs, producers, and a technical support team from RTHK Radio 3 will arrange on-campus training and give you all-round guidance on creativity and delivery.

What you need to do is to send your audio demo (under 3 minutes, 128kbps) echoing our theme – Local Hidden Gem via your school together with the nomination form (Download the form HERE ) to teentime@rthk.hk. Ten selected schools will then be invited to attend a *Broadcasting 101 Workshop, and send us another demo with a new theme to win a tailor-made on-campus training session plus a guided tour of RTHK and in-studio experience. You’ll also have a chance to get your work aired on RTHK Radio 3’s Teen Time.

Deadline: 31 January 2019

*Broadcasting 101 Workshop

Up to 40 shortlisted students (10 teams, each with a maximum of four members) will be invited to attend a two-hour workshop at RTHK, covering delivery and presentation, script writing and critical thinking, editing and production and broadcasting equipment.

A new theme will be announced by the end of the workshop for students to pursue with the aim of winning one of the final three places available in the next stage of the programme.

Training^

RTHK Radio 3 will send a team of presenters to the schools of the three winning teams. Each will receive in-school training consisting of one workshop lasting for 1.5 hours, plus a guided tour of RTHK Broadcasting House, with in-studio training, also for 1.5 hours.

Workshops will focus on English articulation, presentation and delivery, creative writing and show preparation, interviewing skills and techniques, building a connection with the audience, and technical production skills to enhance broadcast quality.

At the end of the programme, each school will produce a segment of 10 minutes’ duration, which will later be broadcast on RTHK Radio 3’s Teen Time.
