Jointly organised by Radio Television Hong Kong (RTHK) and the South China Morning Post (SCMP), the annual fundraising drive ‘Operation Santa Claus’ (OSC) continues to promote the spirit of giving and caring in Hong Kong to benefit those in need in the city. The closing ceremony of OSC 2023 took place today (31 January) at the Crown Wine Cellars in Deep Water Bay. Officiating guests Acting Deputy Director of Broadcasting Vincent LEE Hin-wah and Editor-in-Chief of SCMP Tammy TAM, together with the representatives of beneficiaries and donors, unveiled a total of HKD 14.9M has been raised this year.

The ceremony spread love and warmth with music performed by singer Joanna Leane and ruan player, KUNG Ka-ho. Representatives from donors shared details about their community-wide fundraising campaigns while beneficiaries extended their gratitude to the generous benefactors. Funds raised this year will be distributed among 16 beneficiaries across the city, improving the lives of more than 11,000 people. These beneficiaries include charities dedicated to children and youth, the community, the environment, healthcare, the elderly, as well as individuals with physical and mental disabilities.
